Kilronan Castle Estate & Spa’s Accommodation Manager (& cleanliness guru) Ann Dolan has been working together with The Haven, Oakport Loughs Monica Gaffney to kit out their bedrooms with new Linen, pillows & duvets. Kilronans valued suppliers also sponsored cleaning products thanks to Sherpack in Longford, toiletries from Aslotel Dublin, OCL Linen, and Ecolab.
Positioned overlooking the shores of Lough Oakport, Roscommon, The Haven is owned by NAHVI – The National Association of Housing for Visually Impaired Charity No 13759. NAHVI was formed to address the long term needs of young people with a visual impairment who may also have an additional disability e.g. learning, hearing or physical and have complex needs as a result of social, cultural, economic or emotional factors.
When the centre is not in use by families linked to NAHVI it is available to rent to everyone. They do this to help cover the costs of running the centre. The centre can accommodate a total of 24 people.The main house sleeps 21 people in 6 en-suite bedrooms and the cottage accommodates a further 3 in one double and one twin bedroom. A further 7 people can be accommodated if people are happy to share a double bed.
